Funtumfunafu-denkyemfunafu mopo, wonafu boom nanso won redidi a na won reko – Even though the Siamese crocodiles share a stomach, they fight as they eat. While we may differ in many ways, our individuality and diversity should be complementary rather than divisive or harmful as our ultimate efforts as a people are aimed at achieving a common objective; and that diversity is required to harness different viewpoints for inventive solutions as we confront cultural, socioeconomic and political issues. This exhibition is divided into four thematic areas that illustrate our unity in diversity: Beginnings, States, Kingdoms, and Nations. Our tales of Anansesem (Tales of Ananse), a mythical creature of wisdom and wit, whose web appears to be both intricate and simple, symbolises our diversity as a people, still united by the common story that is Ghana.
